Elegant French walnut drop-leaf table dating to the mid-to-late 19th century. The table features a beautifully figured walnut top with rich honey-brown and warm chestnut tones, highlighted by dramatic natural grain and a softly aged patina.
The substantial turned pedestal is complemented by an elaborate carved four-leg base, with gracefully sweeping cabriole-style legs terminating in distinctive scrolled feet. The carved apron and molded details add to the table's refined French character.
The drop-leaf construction allows the table to be used in a compact configuration or expanded when additional surface area is desired. The beautifully figured walnut and sculptural pedestal make this an especially decorative example of a functional 19th-century French table.
