This antique mahogany, freestanding, double-sided magazine/book/sheet music holder, has a turned, central handle, which allowed for easy mobility, to ensure that the reading material could be conveniently carried from the studio to the drawing room. The holder sits on top of a carved, pedestal column, supported by three, splayed legs. The top rotates freely, which is a wonderful asset, so that it does not have to constantly be picked up and moved! This also allows for convenient storage and shipping, as the stand can be broken down into two parts. The stand weighs just under 13lbs See less

- Every effort has been made to preserve this piece, which is evident by the painstaking repairs made by a skilled … moreEvery effort has been made to preserve this piece, which is evident by the painstaking repairs made by a skilled craftsman. It had probably fallen over, which cracked some of the fretwork (only on one side), but it has been carefully re-glued at some point, and the piece is completely stable, as it was when it was first made. There is a tiny split, where one side of the handle is anchored into the center support—which was repaired— probably at the same time that the fretwork was repaired. less
