The oval form is beautifully restrained, featuring a deep, naturally aged bronze surface accented by a crisp sterling silver border inset into the lid—a distinctive mixed-metal treatment for which Heintz became celebrated.

Substantial for its compact proportions, the box weighs 155 grams and measures approximately 3 inches wide, 2.25 inches deep, and 1.5 inches high. Clearly marked bronze and sterling silver, the box was originally intended for storing postage stamps on a desk, but today it makes an equally handsome decorative object, keepsake box, or addition to an Arts and Crafts interior.
