Vintage Chinese solid rosewood armchair with a hand-carved, pierced dragon medallion set into a key-fret lattice back, matching open fretwork arms, and cabriole legs ending in carved claw feet. The oval medallion depicts a dragon chasing a flaming pearl through clouds, carved fully through the panel. The deep red hand-rubbed finish and loose red silk brocade cushion, woven with a dragon motif, make it a striking accent chair for a living room, entry, study, or office, and it pairs with chinoiserie, Asian, and traditional interiors. Matches our vintage Chinese rosewood three-seat sofa, listed separately, for a complete set.
Heavy solid rosewood frame with mortise-and-tenon joinery (no veneer); traditional key-fret pattern in the back panels and both arms; carved scrolled apron and ball-and-claw style feet. Loose seat cushion is removable for cleaning. Unbranded; made in China.
