Vintage Italian glazed ceramic portrait bust, dating to approximately the 1960s. The figure depicts a young woman in 18th-century-inspired dress, with finely molded details throughout her upswept hair, ruffled neckline and clothing.
Finished in a glossy white glaze, the ceramic bust is mounted on its original substantial round wood plinth in a rich walnut-toned finish. The contrast of crisp white ceramic against the dark wood gives the piece a distinctly 1960s Italian decorator quality, with Neoclassical, Traditional and Hollywood Regency influences.
Marked “ITALY” on the underside of the ceramic. The bust is secured to the wood base through the original center mounting hardware.
