An impressive, large vessel made of hand-hammered copper, originating from Egypt. Its distinctive, spherical shape—with a short, wide neck and two massive, forged handles—gives it an exceptionally decorative and authentically artisanal character.
The vessel was crafted using traditional techniques from sheets of copper; the marks of hand-hammering and the characteristic seams where the sheets were joined are clearly visible. The surface is covered with a natural, multicolored patina in shades of brown, copper, and gold, with numerous traces of past use.
Large Egyptian vessels of this type were used for practical kitchen purposes, including as pots for slow-cooking fava beans (ful medames), as well as large containers for storing food. Today, they serve as striking decorative pieces, particularly in interiors with ethnic, rustic, colonial, vintage, or eclectic styles.
