This vintage painting from Sweden depicts wind-shaped pine trees, with twisted trunks and sweeping branches, growing across a sunlit rocky coast with, low vegetation, and glimpses of calm, blue water beyond the trees. The palette combines warm golden ochres, earthy browns, olive and pine greens, soft blue water and sky tones, and touches of orange-red highlights. A red painted signature appears in the lower left corner, though it is hard to decipher. The painting is housed in a classic gilt wood frame with stepped molding, and a slender inner surround in silver. Note that there appears to be a visible drip-like surface residue at right side of composition extending toward the frame. See less
