Dating to approximately 1894–1910, the dish features a polychrome chinoiserie pattern - pink and yellow florals with cobalt blue scrollwork. There is almost a flow blue quality to it. Unique Green and red scroll design on handle.

Its sculptural shell form is finished with a softly scalloped rim and an unusual molded wing-form handle, delicately accented in green and red. The combination of vibrant floral decoration, fanciful form and dual Copeland Late Spode and Heal & Son backstamps makes this a particularly charming example of late Victorian to Edwardian English pottery.

Beautiful displayed on a tabletop or shelf, it could also serve as a decorative catchall, soap dish or small serving piece.

Marked Copeland Late Spode and Heal & Son, London, on the underside. Presented in good antique condition with crazing, light discoloration and minor wear consistent with age, as shown in the photographs.
