Classical female … Read more A striking antique Copeland Late Spode teapot crafted in cobalt-blue jasperware with finely applied cream-colored neoclassical relief decoration. Classical female figures, urns and trees encircle the rounded body, while molded foliate borders ornament the shoulder and fitted lid. The cream-glazed handle, spout and acorn-form finial provide an elegant contrast against the matte blue ground.

The underside bears the Copeland Late Spode England backstamp and registered design number 180283. The design was registered in 1891, with this example dating to approximately 1894–1910, spanning the late Victorian to Edwardian period.

Presented in very good antique condition with light surface marks, minor discoloration and wear consistent with age and use, as shown in the photographs. There is a very small chip on outside rim of the lid and some discoloration nearby to this, as shown in photos. Presents beautifully.
