Elliott Robert Twery (1923–2007) was a prominent American painter, mosaicist, muralist, and long-time art educator who spent a major portion of his life and career in Lynchburg, Virginia. Best known for his vibrant, abstract depictions of urban environments and his dynamic use of color and form, he served as a central figure in the mid-century art community of the American South.
This larger work was acquired directly from the family and is an excellent example of the artist's work while teaching in New Orleans during the 1950s. See less
