Made by … Read more Antique door knob set with a white porcelain door knob and a nickel plated brass keyhole back plate. Made by Gilbert Lock Company. The patent date is May 30, 1876, and it is inscribed on the back. Gilbert's Patent eliminated the standard set screws, washers, and spindles normally required to attach hardware components. The specialized mortise is not included. Priced as two attached door knobs and back plates. The dimensions are Knob 2.125 in. diameter x 2 in. D, plate 6.5 in. H x 2.25 in. W x 0.5 in.
