Large vintage silverplate scallop shell serving dish by English Silver Mfg. Corp., Brooklyn, New York, mid-20th century. Deeply fluted shell-form body with a scalloped rim, rising to a cast rococo-style handle mount decorated with acanthus scrolls, C-scrolls, and a central shell cartouche. Suitable for shrimp, oysters, fruit, bread, or as a decorative catchall.
Marked on the underside with the maker's shield mark, "English Silver Mfg. Corp.," a circled bust, and "Made in U.S.A."
Dimensions taken from stand. 16 inches in length, 3 inches in depth and 13.5 inches in width.
Condition: Good vintage condition with light surface scratches and minor wear to the plating consistent with age and use; a few small spots of tarnish. No dents or losses. Display stand not included.
