Description:
Presenting a monumental Chinese cloisonné "Peace Vase" (Heping Zun), master-designed and of state gift quality (guoli jibie). This impressive piece features a vibrant red ground with intricate wirework, adorned with polychrome enamel scenes of figures, camels, and horses in a landscape, alongside a striking central taotie mask and auspicious floral motifs. It is flanked by massive, highly detailed gilt bronze handles in the form of mythical beasts and elephant heads, and topped with an ornate, pierced gilt crown. The interior is finished in a striking turquoise enamel, and the vase rests on a carved wooden display stand. Complete with its original presentation box and certificate, it is a magnificent focal point for any collection of Asian art or fine cloisonné.
