Vintage handcrafted Italian giltwood desk stationery and correspondence organizer, circa 1960s–1970s. Crafted of lightweight wood with an allover gold-tone gilt finish, the organizer features a large hinged compartment for writing accessories, a raised rear section for correspondence and two square accessory wells. Stepped molding along the base gives the piece an elegant architectural profile.
The original underside label reads “Prodotto Artigianale – lavorazione eseguita interamente a mano – Made in Italy,” identifying the piece as an artisan product made entirely by hand in Italy.
A handsome and functional vintage desk accessory with wonderful Italian Hollywood Regency appeal. Equally attractive styled on a desk, library table or console.
