An exceptionally decorative 11-piece Crown Imperial porcelain service by Haas & Czjzek, one of the historic names of Bohemian porcelain manufacture. Dating to the interwar era, circa 1920s–1930s, the collection includes six dinner plates and five salad plates in the richly ornamented pattern identified by Replacements as CIM29.
The service is remarkable for its density of detail. Against an elegant ivory porcelain ground, romantic pink roses, golden-yellow blossoms and diminutive blue flowers appear among cobalt-and-gold classical urns, emerald-green cartouches and elaborate gilt acanthus scrollwork. A separate floral spray decorates each well, while fine gold edging completes the composition.
Viewed individually, each plate offers a beautifully balanced study in color and ornament. Layered together, the borders form a sumptuous table setting with the visual presence expected of fine Continental porcelain. It is this abundance of micro-detail—from the tiny flowers contained within the emerald bands to the shaded roses, classical urns and scrolling gilt foliage—that distinguishes the pattern from more commonly encountered floral china.
Each piece bears the Crown Imperial Czecho-Slovakia backstamp with the intertwined H&C monogram of Haas & Czjzek. The company’s history reaches back to the establishment of the Horní Slavkov—formerly Schlaggenwald—porcelain manufactory in 1792. Under Georg Haas and Johann Czjzek during the 19th century, the firm developed into one of Bohemia’s foremost porcelain producers.
The “Czecho-Slovakia” wording found on these backstamps supports an interwar date following the formation of Czechoslovakia. These plates therefore belong to the company’s desirable early-20th-century export production rather than its later midcentury output.
With their jewel-toned emerald, rose, cobalt and gold palette, the plates are particularly suited to a layered traditional interior. They would be beautiful in an English Country dining room, displayed within a glass-fronted cabinet, incorporated into a Grandmillennial plate wall or used to create an opulent holiday or formal table setting. Their tailored ornament and old-world palette also complement the collected country-house sensibility associated with Ralph Lauren–inspired interiors.
A great opportunity to acquire a coordinated service with both decorative presence and distinguished European manufacturing history.

Ten of the eleven plates are in remarkably well-preserved condition. One salad plate has two small chips along its rim, both documented in the detailed photographs. No other chips, cracks or repairs were observed. The floral and ornamental decoration remains vivid and well defined, and the emerald-green borders retain strong, saturated color. The gilding is substantially intact, with light age-appropriate rubbing, occasional darkening and tonal variation along portions of the rims. Minor utensil marks, surface wear and age-related marks to the undersides are consistent with careful use over nearly a century. Please review all photographs, including the close-up images of the affected salad plate, as they form an important part of the condition description. Gentle hand washing is recommended. The plates should not be placed in a dishwasher or microwave. less
