Elegant set of eight vintage Baker Furniture Milling Road dining chairs, dating to the 1960s and comprising two armchairs and six side chairs.
The chairs feature beautifully proportioned hardwood frames with tall upholstered backs, subtly curved rear legs, tapered front legs, and restrained architectural detailing characteristic of Baker’s refined mid-century transitional designs. The armchairs are finished with graceful open arms that complement the clean lines of the side chairs.
The wood frames are in excellent vintage condition, with only minor age-appropriate surface wear and patina. Structurally, the chairs present very well.
The existing upholstery is vintage and ready for replacement, giving the next owner the opportunity to customize the set in a fabric of their choice. Because the chairs are already strong candidates for reupholstery, the current fabric has been left as-is rather than cosmetically altered or partially restored.
An original Milling Road Furniture / Baker Furniture manufacturer’s label remains present.
