Presenting a stunning pair of authentic Mid-Century Modern Model C140 armchairs, designed by the legendary Jens Risom for Jens Risom Design, Inc., circa 1960s. Affectionately nicknamed the "Playboy" chair after being prominently featured in the magazine’s iconic 1961 feature on top modern designers, the C140 design is also famous for its historic integration into the LBJ White House.
These chairs are meticulously crafted from solid American black walnut, boasting an exquisite grain pattern and rich, warm coloration. The signature design element is the dynamically sculpted, floating-style armrests that gracefully sweep backward, merging seamlessly into the frame structure to provide a beautifully angled, relaxed silhouette. The seats and gently curved backrests are upholstered in their vintage warm caramel/brown vinyl, which remains incredibly clean and supple.
