From the living estate of Arizona based brutalist sculpture artist, John Gleason, bring an element of serene, mid-century elegance to your space with this captivating Lladró "Mariko" porcelain figurine (Item #01001421). Masterfully sculpted by renowned artisan Salvador Debón and produced in Spain, this impressive, large-scale piece was first issued in 1982 and officially retired in 1995.
The sculpture (traditionally titled Japonesa Balaustrada) features a beautifully poised woman in a flowing, soft lavender and gray kimono leaning gracefully against a classic Asian garden lantern. She holds a delicate hand fan, surrounded at her feet by Lladró's signature, intricately handmade pastel porcelain flowers. Finished in a brilliant high-gloss glaze, the pastel palette captures the light beautifully, making it an extraordinary statement piece for a mantel, console, or display cabinet.
