This pair of lounge chairs was made in Denmark in the 1940s, in the Art Deco style favored by Danish cabinetmakers of the period.
The rounded back is shaped into vertical channels. These curve into generous scrolled arms, upholstered in the same rust-toned mohair velvet. Twisted cord piping outlines every seam.
A deep bullion fringe conceals the base and the short turned wood feet. The loose seat cushion is well filled, set within a compact, solid frame. Construction is sound throughout, with even upholstery tension and a consistent mohair pile. Wear is minimal and evenly spread.
A fine classic pair, well suited to a modern, antique or bohemian interior.
