The rug displays a deep navy-blue field decorated with an intricate, repeating floral and paisley-inspired pattern in warm shades of red, burgundy, terracotta, ivory, gold and muted green. Multiple finely drawn geometric borders frame the central composition, giving the piece a strong sense of rhythm and balance. The rug has the characteristic rich patina and slightly faded tones of an antique textile, with variations in color and minor signs of age that enhance its authentic character. The original fringed ends and naturally irregular edges are visible, consistent with its age and handmade construction. A particularly attractive piece for collectors of antique Oriental rugs, or as a distinctive decorative runner for a hallway, entrance, library or living space.
