The heavy, teardrop base rises into a slender waist and opens into a dramatically pulled, three-pointed rim. Thick clear casing over the amber core gives the glass real optical depth, shifting from deep cognac to golden honey as the light moves. Small internal air bubbles are visible in the mass — a signature of the traditional hand-forming process.
a characteristic example of polish modernism: mid-century design of the prl era, where glassmakers turned away from geometry towards organic, sculptural form drawn from nature. The "sękacz" is one of the most recognisable icons of polish post-war glass and is increasingly collected outside poland. Each piece is unique in its proportions and in the placement of the knots.
condition: very good vintage condition. No chips, cracks or repairs. A few internal inclusions and air bubbles consistent with hand production of the period. Light shelf wear to the underside. This piece is attributed to the mentioned designer/maker. It has no attribution mark and no
official proof of authenticity,
however it is well documented in design history. I take full responsibility for any authenticity
issues arising from misattribution
