Hand-carved from nine pieces of limestone, this small wall fountain is from the South of France. The back wall is full of contours, thanks to the arching top, the scrolled corbels at the base, and the deep recessed molding that mirrors the overall form. The geometrically shaped basin juxtaposes this, although a deep undercut beneath the rim softens it. The elegant shape is continued by the scrolled iron spout and lozenge backplate.
