- Good antique condition with wear consistent with age. Gilt surface has mellowed over time and there are scattered rubbing, losses, … moreGood antique condition with wear consistent with age. Gilt surface has mellowed over time and there are scattered rubbing, losses, crazing and age cracks. Small chip in ebony liner surrounding the mirror (see last photo). Convex mirror plate exhibits considerable age-related silvering loss, clouding, spotting and oxidation. Eagle and applied ornament remain well defined. Back retains an old paper backing and the hanging wire is a later replacement. I am happy to answer any questions you may have prior to purchase or to send more photos if needed. less
