A vintage Norwegian wooden tine box, hand-painted and dated 1981, decorated in a traditional rosemaling-inspired folk-art style.
The box features a rounded bentwood form with a two-part fitted lid and an integrated carrying handle. Its exterior and lid are richly decorated with hand-painted floral and scrolling motifs in olive green, burgundy, orange, cream, and dark brown tones.
The front is marked “Aar 1981”, while the underside bears a handwritten inscription or signature. The decoration appears to have been applied by hand, giving the piece the individual irregularities and character associated with folk-painted woodenware.
The interior is finished in a contrasting soft blue-gray tone. Its generous size and distinctive construction make it suitable both as a decorative Scandinavian folk-art object and as a functional storage box for keepsakes or small household items.
A striking vintage piece with strong Norwegian folk-art character, well suited to Scandinavian, rustic, traditional, or collected interiors.
