Dramatic, opulent, and unapologetically distinctive, this vintage illuminated crystal table lamp has been reimagined as a true jewel-box statement piece.
The lamp features a substantial cylindrical crystal body measuring approximately 14 inches tall. Deep repeating spear, diamond, and starburst facets beautifully refract both natural light and the lamp’s internal illumination. The crystal is supported by an elaborate four-footed neoclassical base and crowned by a coordinating decorative collar.
The metalwork has received a sensitive hand-applied refresh in warm antique bronze with aged-gold highlights and deeper bronze-brown shading within the recessed ornamentation. The intentionally layered finish preserves visual depth and historical character rather than presenting as a flat, newly manufactured surface. Minor chips and areas of finish loss have been carefully color-matched in accordance with the Old Town Chapel refinish philosophy.
This lamp offers an especially desirable three-way lighting arrangement. The illuminated crystal body and upper light bulb may be operated separately or together:
• Illuminated crystal body alone for a soft jewel-like glow
• Upper bulb alone for conventional room lighting
• Crystal body and upper bulb together for maximum illumination and sparkle
For this “Oxblood Pagoda Jewel Box” presentation, the lamp is crowned with a dramatic six-sided pagoda shade upholstered in deep oxblood or wine-red velvet. Tailored vertical pleating, a softly scalloped lower edge, narrow antique-gold braid, and a warm metallic-gold interior give the shade the appearance of a bespoke designer commission.
The richly saturated velvet provides a sumptuous contrast to the clear crystal, while the reflective gold lining casts a warm amber glow. The distinctive pagoda silhouette transforms the lamp into a sculptural focal point appropriate for a sophisticated library, dramatic bedroom, maximalist salon, cocktail room, or Hollywood Regency interior.
A four-position adjustable harp allows the shade height to be tailored to the final installation. The shade is positioned to completely conceal the harp and socket assembly. Vintage molded or pressed crystal may exhibit minor surface marks, bubbles, inclusions, edge irregularities, or internal variations visible under close inspection. These characteristics are consistent with its age and manufacturing process. The ornate base, feet, collar, and upper fittings have received a hand-applied cosmetic finish refresh in warm antique bronze with aged-gold highlights. Darker shading has been retained within the recessed details to emphasize the sculptural ornamentation. Subtle tonal variation, brushwork, and evidence of age are intentional elements of the finish rather than defects. Minor chips and areas of prior finish loss have been carefully color-matched. Some small marks and irregularities remain in keeping with the Old Town Chapel philosophy of preserving honest vintage character while addressing distracting damage.
