Loewy's hallmark mixed-material approach is on full display: a brushed aluminum/chrome angle-iron frame, rich walnut veneer drawer and door fronts, and a black-enameled top, all rolling on original casters. Originally built for hospital use, the piece carries genuine institutional provenance from one of America's most important industrial designers — the same figure behind the Studebaker, the Lucky Strike pack, and the Shell and Exxon logos.

The asymmetrical composition of open cubbies, a swing door on one end, and drawers on both sides with sculptural chrome pulls, reflects the same architectural, geometric sensibility Loewy brought to transportation and product design — a striking crossover piece for collectors of mid-century industrial design or healthcare/medical design history.

Marked with Hill-Rom tags inside two of the drawers. Also has a "St Joseph's Hospital" inventory tag, showing it likely came from the Denver. hospital. See less
