The sculptural … Read more Early edition of the iconic F437 Orange Slice lounge chair, designed by Pierre Paulin for Artifort in 1960.

The sculptural design consists of two curved upholstered shells supported by an exceptionally light tubular steel structure. This early 1960s example retains its original nickel-plated frame, a feature documented on early editions of the model.

The chair has been professionally restored with new foam and completely reupholstered in a highly textured blue and off-white fabric. The upholstery is a heavy-duty 100% polyester fabric, 550 g/m², tested to more than 70,000 Martindale cycles.

The original nickel-plated frame has been preserved and shows a subtle age-related patina and minor traces of wear.

A very attractive early example of Pierre Paulin's celebrated Orange Slice, combining an original vintage frame with fresh upholstery suitable for regular use.
