A fascinating vintage medical examination instrument featuring a large concave reflector mirror, adjustable magnifying lens, and integrated accessory platform.
Originally designed to direct and concentrate light during medical examinations, the large circular reflector is paired with a smaller adjustable magnifying lens mounted on a metal arm. The lens can be repositioned using the mechanical adjustment knob, giving the piece an appealing functional, industrial quality.
Its polished metal construction, oversized circular forms, and exposed mechanical components give the instrument a striking Machine Age and industrial aesthetic. No longer limited to its original clinical context, it makes an unusual sculptural object for an industrial, eclectic, or curiosity-filled interior.
