Oil on Canvas, original simple wood frame.
Provençal Landscape

This striking mid-20th-century impressionistic landscape captures the raw and rustic elegance of the South of France.
The composition centers on a group of towering, sculptural cypress trees executed with the artist’s signature bold, high-contrast brushwork and dark, structural outlines.
In the background, a sun-dappled field stretches toward distant low-lying hills and olive groves beneath a dramatic, sweeping sky filled with textured clouds.
Ely Laumonier’s masterful use of a warm, grounded earth-tone palette beautifully reflects the intense Mediterranean light.
The work is distinctly signed "Ely Laumonier" in his prominent, black script in the bottom corner of the canvas. The painting is presented in its original mid-century linen-lined wooden frame, which complements the rustic elegance of the artwork.
Very good antique condition, consistent with age and use. See less
