The pheasant features a rich cobalt and turquoise blue body contrasted against clear glass details. During the hand-blowing process, numerous small air bubbles were intentionally incorporated throughout the body, adding wonderful texture and depth as light passes through the glass.

Its exaggerated elongated tail rises dramatically from the body with layered shades of blue, while the clear head, beak and crest provide a delicate contrast. The bird rests atop an especially attractive clear glass pedestal with a dimensional repeating pattern.

A beautifully executed example of postwar Murano glassmaking with strong color, movement and Mid-Century Modern sculptural presence.
