Perfect as a dramatic visual statement on a dining sideboard, a styled bar cart, or within an eclectic china cabinet, this set brings sophisticated color and texture to any setting.
The set includes a tall, elegantly tapered chocolate pot, six matching demitasse cups, and six coordinating saucers. Each piece features a rich cranberry-burgundy ground adorned with hand-painted purple violets and golden wheat stalks. The craftsmanship is defined by heavy moriage (raised slip-beading) and thick, radiant gold gilt outlining the handles and scalloped rims. Unmarked as was typical of early Japanese export porcelain prior to 1891, this heirloom-quality set beautifully bridges traditional Eastern techniques with Victorian-era Western utility. Superb vintage condition. The wafer-thin porcelain has been remarkably preserved with no chips, cracks, or hairline fractures to any of the 13 pieces. The raised hand-beaded moriage is completely intact, and the heavy gold gilt shows virtually no signs of age-related wear or fading.
