The tabletop is made from three long planks of pine, which have been stained a warm dark brown. Throughout the piece are notches and heavy patina as beautiful evidence of its use as a work surface. The instances of honest repairs are the most intriguing parts of this table. The inserted cuts of wood into areas of damage or loss--which past repairers made no attempt to hide--tell us of the table's utilitarian importance. Today, these human touches offer us a feeling of connection to the life this table has lived. Its simplistic design features legs that taper slightly and an apron containing a single drawer. This table has been cleaned and polished with a French paste wax, ready for use in your interiors. Could even be used as a spacious desk. We believe this to be in good antique condition considering the age, and any visible signs of wear are captured in the photos.
