The layered arrangement of fruits on their crystal platter feels carefully thought out yet completely natural. There is a luminosity throughout the composition that is captured in the strong cast shadows, vivid colors and bright highlights on the crystal. Structurally, the painting is in good condition. There are no instances of paint loss, and the canvas is nicely taut with no tears or warping. The bur frame beautifully picks up the warm tones of the painting, and it is wired and ready to hang. Signed W.T. Williams and dated in the bottom right corner. The back of the painting reveals a handwritten note that reads, “4 the walk,” presumably written by the artist. We believe this to be in good antique condition considering the age, and any visible signs of wear are captured in the photos.
