Rendered with a delicate, atmospheric hand, the composition captures the poetry of Paris after rain, where reflective pavements, softly diffused light, and tree-lined boulevards create a distinctly romantic mood.

The basilica rises in the background as an architectural anchor, while storefronts, pedestrians, and elegant facades animate the foreground with quiet urban life. Febvre’s handling of tone and light gives the work an impressionistic softness, allowing the muted lavenders, grays, greens, and warm café tones to dissolve beautifully into one another.

This drawing embodies the enduring charm of early 20th-century Montmartre—both intimate and iconic—offering a refined glimpse into one of Paris’s most beloved artistic quarters.

Presented in an ornate gilt frame that complements the scene’s historic character, this work is equally suited for a study, salon, library, or sophisticated city interior. See less
