Elegant Louis XVI period mirror crafted in carved giltwood with a painted wood pediment, richly decorated with a covered urn overflowing with flowers and suspended leafy garlands. The restrained neoclassical lines are balanced by refined decorative details characteristic of the late 18th century French aesthetic.
The mirror retains its original mercury glass with beautifully aged surface wear that adds depth and authenticity, along with its original parquet backing. The gilding presents a softly timeworn patina consistent with age, enhancing the piece’s character without diminishing its sophistication.
Graceful and highly decorative, this mirror works equally well above a console, mantel, or within a layered interior where authentic period elements are desired. A timeless French piece combining architectural elegance with warm antique presence.
