Striking mid-century Italian ceramic vase attributed to Aldo Londi for Bitossi, circa 1960s. The cylindrical form features a wonderfully tactile, heavily textured sandy-brown surface accented by a deep brown glazed rim and bold stylized floral medallions in vibrant orange and dark brown.
A beautiful example of the earthy textures and graphic decoration associated with Londi’s work for Bitossi during the period. At approximately 8.5 inches tall, the vase has wonderful presence while remaining an easy size for a bookshelf, console, credenza or pottery collection.
The underside is unmarked; attribution is based on documented comparable Bitossi/Londi examples.
