Designed in 1978 by Italian architect and designer Lino Sabattini for Zani & Zani, the Instrumenta collection is a benchmark of Italian modernist tableware. This 48-piece service for eight is executed in 18/10 stainless steel, clean architectural lines, and gently curved handles that sit comfortably in the hand. The fork tines are precisely proportioned, the spoons balanced in the hand, and the knives carry a disciplined profile that reinforces the series' architectural character — details that reflect Sabattini's conviction that functionality and elegance are inseparable.
Sabattini built his reputation on formal reduction and functional precision, and Instrumenta is among his most sought-after designs. The pattern is held in the permanent collections of the RISD Museum and the Philadelphia Museum of Art, and documented in Cutlery Design 1948–2000: The Bauer Design Collection. All pieces are marked. Good vintage condition with wear consistent with age and use, including normal surface marking. Made in Italy.
