The design is executed in raised enamel with exposed copper outlining, giving the surface a graphic, almost illustrative quality. The white enamel fawn has fine crackling consistent with the firing process, while the surrounding surface shows scattered white crystalline effects that add considerable texture and depth.

Signed HG on the front.

The work is stylistically related to Dutch enamel workshops such as Sagitta, which produced similar animal and woodland-themed copper enamels during the mid-20th century.

The reverse retains its original darkened copper surface with age-related patina and wear. Overall, the piece presents very well and has a particularly strong decorative surface.
