These … Read more This is a Excellent Example of an Authentic American Primitive "Swing Handle" Style Utility Basket. Circa Late 19th Century. These Types - Styles of Baskets were Primarily Produced and Used in North Eastern America From the Up State New York Adirondack - New Hampshire - Vermont and Down East Coastal Maine Regions. Strong & Sturdy Construction!. This Basket is Completely & Beautifully Hand Made - Hand Woven out of Heavy Gauge Indigenous North American Ash Wood Splint. The Attention to Detail in the Weave Indicates that it was Made by a Well Seasoned - Experienced Basket Maker. The Top Rim has a Sturdy - Coiled Steam Bent Ash Ring that has Been Attached - Wrapped in the Weaving. It also has a Wide Arched Steam Bent Ash Carry Handle. It is in Excellent All Original - Untouched as it Has Survived Over the Years Condition. Strong - Sound - Perfectly Usable. It has a Wonderful Naturally Aged Color & Patina and it Displays Beautifully. No Damage - No Repairs.
