It has 2 … Read more This is an Exceptionally Nice Smaller Size Antique American Country Primitive Berry Basket. Circa Late 19th Century. It has 2 Steam Bent Wood Side Carry Handles Incorporated in to the Design as well as a Bolstered Top Rim. It is Completely Hand Woven - Hand Made out of Heavy Gauge Indigenous Brown Ash Wood and was Designed to be Durable. It would have to have been Made by an Experienced Weaver as The Workmanship Would Indicate. Note that it has a Round Top Rim that Tapers Down to a Rectangular Base. It Most Likely Comes From the Down East Coastal Maine or New England Region this Being Where I Purchased it.. It is in Excellent - Strong & Sound Condition - Perfectly Usable. It has Developed a Wonderful Color with Naturally Aged Patina Over the Years that Cannot be Duplicated.

These Types of Antique American Baskets in Very Good Original Condition are Becoming Very Hard to Find These Days. It Would Display Wonderfully in a Country Kitchen Table Setting.
