Vintage rare little Monkey Ojima was added to the top of the Vintage Parquet box. The little monkey is hanging on a branch and I set the hole with a natural piece of antique Mediterranean coral.
Ojima translation is "small island" An ojime is a Japanese "cord fastener")and a bead used in Japanese inrō (carrying cases). Similar to the netsuke, though smaller.
I like to call him little Punch, the little Japanese monkey I fell in love with. "Punch" (or Punch-kun) is a viral Japanese macaque at the Ichikawa City Zoo in Japan, born in July 2025. Rejected by his mother at birth, he was hand-raised by zookeepers and given an orangutan plushie for comfort during his social integration. He has since become an internet sensation.
