Ojima translation is "small island" An ojime is a Japanese "cord fastener")and a bead used in Japanese inrō (carrying cases). Similar to the netsuke, though smaller.
I like to call him little Punch, the little Japanese monkey I fell in love with. "Punch" (or Punch-kun) is a viral Japanese macaque at the Ichikawa City Zoo in Japan, born in July 2025. Box size 3 5/8" by 2.75" by 1 /78"
