The long; beautifully balanced façade is organized around four paneled doors; each outlined with fine gilt-brass moldings and accented by delicately cast brass rosettes and hardware. The restrained geometric decoration and strong symmetry are characteristic of the French Neoclassical and Louis XVI aesthetic.

The buffet is raised on six slender tapered legs; enriched with gilt-brass collars and terminating in brass sabots. Above; an intact white Carrara marble slab creates an elegant contrast with the rich black ebonized finish.

The four doors open to provide generous interior storage and drawers, making this substantial antique cabinet as functional as it is decorative. Particularly successful are its long, low proportions and restrained use of brass, the ornamentation emphasizes the architecture without overwhelming it.

A sophisticated example of early 20th-century French Louis XVI Revival furniture, this antique buffet works equally well as an enfilade, dining room sideboard, credenza or large storage cabinet, and its clean Neoclassical lines allow it to integrate beautifully into both traditional and contemporary interiors.
