Vintage Saint Amand French Revolution A Ca Ira Coats of Arms Dessert Plate Set
produced in mid-20th-century as a commemorative series (1930s–1940s)
"À ça ira" ("It will be fine"), a famous revolutionary song and slogan from 1790.
One with features a central medallion with a Phrygian cap (symbol of liberty) and the phrase "Vive la liberté sans licence" (Long live liberty without license) surrounded by floral accents. All have a scalloped red rim.
All are marked on the back with the manufacturer Saint-Amand and crossed symbols (including a shovel/spade and revolutionary ribbons/banners) above the word "France," paired with a separate crest featuring the letter "J" inside a laurel wreath.
