Modern School is an original drawing in China ink and watercolor on cardboard, realized by Gabriele Galantara in 1910s. Titled on the lower left in Italian. With the description written by the artist on the lower. The state of preservation of the artwork is good except with a folding. The artwork is strongly expressed in precise and delicate strokes in a satiric manner, which is the style of the Italian artist. Gabriele Galantara (1867-1937), journalist and one of the major Italian caricaturists and satirical designers. The Donkey was a political satire magazine in 1892, the year of the first Giolitti ministry and the establishment of the Italian Socialist Party, The magazine was conceived by Guido Podrecca, and by Gabriele Galantara, brilliant cartoonist and puppeteer, also a socialist. The two assumed the pseudonyms of ''Goliardo'' (Podrecca) and ''Rata Langa'' (Galantara), and with these nicknames, they signed the issues of the weekly. This piece is attributed to the mentioned designer/maker. It has no attribution mark and no
official proof of authenticity,
however it is well documented in design history. I take full responsibility for any authenticity
