Original drawings on yellow paper. Hand-signed in pencil on the lower right corner: Duclère. Golden frames are included. Mint conditions. Very beautiful drawing representing several standing figures realized with an elegant and realistic stroke and touch. Duclère's drawings were characterized by a very realistic, clear and illustrative style, undoubtedly favored by the use of the optical instruments supplied by School of Posillipo painters. Duclère underwent a radical stylistic change and in his drawings he arrived at a more original interpretation of the landscape motif, made especially in late maturity with the eye of a naturalist. The work has been realized by the Italian artist Teodoro Duclère (Neaples, 1812 - Neaples, 1869) an Italian painter and lecturer, specialized in landscape art of the Posillipo school. Duclère was one of the most significant landscape painters of the Posillipo school. He was, however, an artist much neglected by nineteenth-century art criticism and on him there is very little documentation, so much so that consistent doubts persist on the attribution and dating of his works.
