The box was carved in the Antebellum period with a shield on its cover with what appears to be weapons of different sorts. I attached to the lid an Antique sterling silver Stag head with a Citrine. I drilled 2 holes into the top and riveted it to the wood. This little OOAK special trinket box is American Circa 1800s and the stag head is of Scottish origin late 1860-1900.
