A striking vintage Castilian Imports, Inc. Regency-style tole cachepot or decorative planter, richly finished in olive green with distressed gilt-gold trim and elaborate neoclassical details.
The front features a hand-painted oval medallion depicting an elegant long-legged crane or exotic bird alongside a playful monkey, fruit, florals, and an architectural garden setting. The generously scaled square-tapered form is enhanced by substantial lion-head ring handles, sculptural paw or claw feet, and a raised rectangular plinth base. The interior is finished in black.
A wonderful statement piece for a traditional, Regency, Hollywood Regency, eclectic, grandmillennial, or maximalist interior. Use it as a cachepot for a large plant, a decorative floor planter, a fireplace-hall accent, or an unusual umbrella stand—use a liner if planting directly inside.
