Signed on the lower right and inscribed ''E.A'' on the lower left. This beautiful print represents a Surreal image with a girl. It was engraved in Paris in 200 exemplars and 10 exemplars on Japon paper, in a period in which Bellmar dedicated mostly to drawing erotic subjects. Before the war, in the moment of realization of the tempera from which this print took inspiration, Belllmer fled from Germany where his art was openly against Nazism. He took refuge in Paris, where he began exhibiting his “Pupee” or dolls (strange beings built and photographed by him) with Surrealists. These surreal works denounced the politics of a perfect human race and the social conditions of women. This is a splendid engraving, with an unusual technical rendering of a very interesting and mysterious subject. Bibliography: De Mandiargues André Pieyre, Hans Bellmar. Oeuvre gravé, ed.
