Stunning museum-quality example of Victorian-era patriotic feather art depicting a classic American Federal Eagle. This piece is completely untouched and remains in its original, undisturbed period presentation-a rare find.

The central eagle is meticulously constructed using layered, multi-toned natural feathers to create realistic dimension and texture on the wings and body. The artwork is housed undr its authentic, original 19th-century mouth-blown cylinder glass. The glass features beautiful natural "seed bubbles", waves and slight structural distortions characteristic of period glassmaking.

The back of the frame is sealed with its original wood backing board and firmly secured by its original oxidized period nails.

The feathers retain remarkable texture and structure with minimal shifting or shredding. There are no major moisture staining, the glass is free of cracks or chips. Mild, expected age-related dust settling is present under the glass. There is minor damage to one corner of the frame, please review pictures. See less
