This beautifully crafted rectangular box features a rich, dark reddish-brown wood grain (described as Rosewood / Sandalwood style) and is decorated with intricate deep relief carvings on the top lid. The craftsmanship is highly detailed, showcasing traditional Chinese auspicious motifs:
The Top: Features a central carving of a Bat and Peaches, flanked by Ruyi cloud patterns. This classic combination is known as "Fu Shou Ru Yi", symbolizing Good Fortune, Longevity, and Wishes Coming True. The border features a traditional geometric "thunder" pattern.
The Front: A simple, round brass lock plate sits in the center, contrasting beautifully against the dark wood grain.
Craftsmanship: The deep carving creates a wonderful tactile texture, and the wood has a beautiful natural sheen.
